What have you been putting off?

Uncategorized Nov 05, 2019

It's easy to set goals and keep putting them off. Recently we renovated our kitchen after talking about it for five years. Finally we decided to go through with it and now we’re wondering why we didn’t do it sooner! This got me thinking about all the times this happens in our everyday lives and I wanted to take a moment to touch on it a bit and see if I can help you take action!

As the year is quickly coming to a close, you might be thinking about your goals for next year, and while it’s important to have new goals, it’s also important to actually stick with the ones you have.

I wanted to compete in bodybuilding competitions since I was a teenager. It wasn't until 2012 that I actually pulled the trigger and got a coach to help me achieve this. This year, I earned my pro card in several federations and was able to compete at the professional level! This is what happens when you take action and commit to making things happen! So often we find reasons to not do things and while some reasons might be completely valid, others probably aren’t.

Any type of change that happens in life, whether intentional or not, often comes with growing pains. Our kitchen, for example, was a bit of a nightmare for a while. I couldn’t meal prep like I was used to, we were living in a construction zone, and obviously there was a financial commitment that went along with this change as well. These were all things that we used as reasons to not pull the trigger, but after it was all done, those things don’t matter anymore and the process was worth the reward.

I always say the magic happens outside of your comfort zone. So what goals do you have that you keep pushing out?

  • Is it the never ending goal of losing weight?
  • Do you want to change careers?
  • Start a business?
  • Move to a new city?
  • Or do you want to save more money and go on a dream vacation?

Whatever it is, there is no time like the present to get started and create a plan to help you achieve your goals. You know you'll feel amazing once you accomplish it, so do it now!
